3 Miles to Church

I walked 3 miles to church this morning. Or rather, I should say, I walked 3 miles through church.

There were no walls. There were no people. There was just me on the road walking through the forest, celebrating the beauty around me.

There was no pastor. No pulpit. No big screens declaring the Word. There was just me and the congregation of stately pines seeming to lift their limbs towards the sky.

There were no stained glass windows, no pews to sit. There was just sun filtering through the trees shining prisms of rainbow colors streaming from the heavens.

There was no robed choir, no hymns were sung. Just the melody of birds blending their voices together with the choreography of a babbling brook. Wildlife scattered through the trees, hiding from me, my presence interrupting their own solemn moments.

I was in true awe of the beauty around me, humbling me to the point of tears.   He was there, speaking to me at every turn, at every awesome view, at every evidence of His work. He was saying “I am here. I have always been here. I will always be here.”

My heart was overflowing with love for Him, for my life, and for the blessings that I have been given. A spiritual cleanse washed through me, filling me with clear refreshing grace. And my soul was bursting at the seams singing solo at the top of its lungs….

My God How Great Thou Art

Simply yours,

K
